The research study confirmed that the victims who took more dosage on statin when compared to those that took lower doses on the same presented mixed reviews.

Two randomized research trials have showed that patients who had suffered from two or more sets of blood sugar related conditions were at a higher risk of increasing diabetic risks if they took higher statin doses. The study was conducted to substantiate what would happen to those patients with just one risk factor when compared to those with more risk factors on the 80mg atorvastatin.

The results confirmed that those with two to four risk factors and took a higher dose of atorvastatin were at a higher risk on the victim curve for the new onset diabetes. The results were reported online and published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

These findings correspond to those released on the JUPITER trial which were meant to analyze the course that rosuvastatin took on the same timeline of diabetes, where patients with one risk factor of diabetes were much more at risk. The objective of these results were to create assurance to physicians and other medical experts treating patients on low diabetes risk on how to tackle the condition better according to Waters and colleagues.

About diabetes past and present reactions

The balance between the current times and the past events on diabetes record  that cardio related events prevention have been associated to massive complications and thus what physicians and other experts are trying to curb. Patients that could die from an etherosclerotic event before complications development included that those with established vascular diseases were likely to remain at that risk factor by developing onset of diabetes complications.

The data examined by waters and colleagues was about 15,056 patients who had exhibited results of coronary diseases but had no baseline of diabetes. The point of connection that led to this study was to determine the kind of prevention basis to take and ensure stability. The assessment was on the TNT and IDEAL trials all based on the 10mg-80mg a day for the atorvastatin.

The concept of the study

The study articulated that the endpoints for the cardiovascular heard disease was to establish the cause of death, the concept of resuscitation, as well as MI, stroke and cardiac arrest respectively.

Although there were mixed reviews on the news onset diabetes, it was revealed that the impact was relatively minor when compared to previous cardiovascular episodes that were included on the same analysis. For instance, in the previous study, water and colleagues pointed out those four factors that were associated with new onset diabetes were fasting blood glucose, fasting triglycerides, and body mass as well as hypertension history. These were the results compared to the new study to reflect the outcomes.
