CPR on COVID-19 Positive or Suspected Patients

In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest On COVID-19:

  • Check if the scene is safe
  • Don PPE (Personal Protective Equipment: gloves, gown, face shield, and preferably particulate respirator N95 or a face mask)
  • Limit the number of people around the victim. Non-essential people should be standing at least 6 feet away.
  • Use bag-mask with filter for providing breaths
  • FOR ADULTS ONLY: If bag-mask with filter is unavailable, then use passive oxygenation with face mask along with continuous compression

In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest on COVID-19



If the victim is COVID-19 negative or not suspected, then standard CPR algorithm is recommended.
