First aid providers are guided by\nprinciples, aims, and objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll take a walk through some of\nthe aims and objectives of first<\/strong> aid\nin a short while! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But first, you need to understand\nthe actual meaning of first aid. It\u2019s simply that immediate attention that\u2019s\ngiven to a sick or injured person while waiting full medical care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preservation of life is the most significant aspect\nof a first aid exercise<\/strong><\/a>.\nWe need air to survive and to live. The circulation of air in the body helps in\nthe preservation of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

First aid prevents further infections\nin the body. Besides disinfection of wounds, it helps in the prevention of\ngerms and other pathogens from entering the wounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, the first aid providers\nclean the wounds using appropriate medicine. Also, they cover the wounds to\nprevent further entry of germs or other pathogens into the wounds. The use of a\nglove in the provision of first aid also prevents further infections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personal cleanliness also plays an\nintegral role in the prevention of further infections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First aid exercise in preventing excessive loss of blood<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excess loss of blood can lead to\nloss of consciousness. In extreme cases, an uncontrolled excessive loss might\nlead to the loss of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where there is blood oozing out of\nthe body, the first aid providers have a duty to ensure the oozing is stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first aid objective is to\nregain and maintain the normal body temperatures. The steps could include\nwarming the trunks of the person and covering the person with warm clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ensure an adequate supply of oxygen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adequate oxygen helps a person to\nregain consciousness. A limited supply of oxygen cause intoxication and a\nsubsequent death of a person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
