This can be just as\nharmful as administering the wrong kind of help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, knowing how to respond in the event of an emergency is a\nnecessary skill set to have. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While some emergencies are connected with a person\u2019s health,\nthere are some which can also occur because of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icohweb.org\/site\/homepage.asp\">workplace hazards<\/a>, small\naccidents at home or even while playing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you know that more people die from slips in the bathroom\nthan they do from serious accidents?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>In such cases, what you need to do is learn how you should\nbe responding to emergencies. Not knowing about this can be more stressful for\nyou and for other people involved in the emergency as well. T<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>o avoid such scenarios and to be prepared, the following are\nwhat you need to know when responding to emergencies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Seek Medical Attention As Soon As Possible<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Always seek medical attention immediately, especially if the\nperson becomes unconscious. In such cases, there\u2019s a very high risk of the\nperson suffering further damage. Call emergency hotlines immediately and worry\nabout the paperwork or costs later on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, if the emergency is happening at the\nworkplace, make sure you\u2019re following emergency measures without fail. This\nmakes it easy to ensure that there are no insurance issues and that no one will\nbe accused of neglect here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Remain as Calm as You Can<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a good idea to remain as calm as possible to be able to\nmake rational decisions. In this case, you want to make sure that you\u2019re able\nto monitor the situation and follow protocols as needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s always something you can do when responding to an\nemergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Help others by sorting out the paperwork, comforting shocked\nbystanders or even getting them to recount the incident for documentation\npurposes. You want to make sure that you do your best for them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if you cannot do anything, that\u2019s okay too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Administer CPR Only if You Are Trained and Certified<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It can be tempting to perform CPR on a person in an\nemergency especially if you have watched shows like The Office where they show\nthat CPR should be done to the beat of the Bee Gees song, <em>Staying Alive<\/em> or <em>Another One\nBites the Dust <\/em>by Queen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, you really shouldn\u2019t try to apply this to the\nperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unless you have received CPR training and certification, it\nis not a good idea to administer CPR on another person. This is because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onlinecprcertification.net\/\">CPR training<\/a> teaches you\nother things as well such as clearing the airways, removing obstructions and applying\nthe appropriate pressure on the ribcage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Incorrect CPR administration can result in serious injuries\nto the person. By keeping these tips in mind, you can easily know how to behave\nwhen responding to emergencies.
